Sunday 9th May

Out from 6.45 until about 9am this morning. Cold and very overcast - where has the Spring gone? Ispent most of my time around the sunken marsh and scanning the Medway hoping for some waders, but no luck. A Turtle Dove was on wires on the far bank and Reed Warbler were busy chattering away and like the one below, preparing to nest. Clouds of hirundines again over Brooklands Lake which was great to see....spent some time scanning for a Red Rumped Swallow!!

Reed Warbler

Not much else to note this morning apart from 3 Shelduck on the river.

Why won't that Turtle Dove come out to play when i'm down there Steve?
Great photo's especially in the overcast conditions. Well done with the Hirundines in flight, tricky little devils aren't they!

Thanks for scanning those Swallows - bad luck a Red-rumped wasn't amongst them (2 at Arlinton Resr yesterday). Nice Reed Warbler shots. Might pop down with a couple of kids later to see if they can't find a Nightingale!

Good Reed Warbler shots, especially that first one. I think we must have your spring as it has been delightful here today with glorious sunny weather.
